Why Homeowners Choose Us

We design a dock that fits your vision, your space, and your lifestyle.

Texas Dock & Design by Josh West is the culmination of decades of dock-building experience. Every project is planned and executed with skill, precision, and care — from the first sketch to the final weld.

  • One team, start to finish

No subcontractor hand-offs. Josh and the crew are on your dock from site visit to final walk-through.

  • Built for Texas water levels

Engineered for the swings of the Highland Lakes — materials and floats specced for your specific shoreline.

  • Permits, HOA, and drawings handled

LCRA submittals, HOA architectural review, and engineered drawings are part of our scope, not yours.

  • No punch lists

Client quote: "Their finished product was so good there was no punch list." That is the bar we hold.

How We Work

Start to finish, we walk with you.

From first site visit through final punch list, you have one team accountable for the whole build.

  1. 1

    Site visit

Josh or Kevin comes to your shoreline, measures, and listens to your vision.

  2. 2

    Design

We produce engineered drawings and a written quote — no surprises later.

  3. 3

    Permit & build

LCRA, HOA, and any lake-authority submittals handled in-house. Then our crew builds.

  4. 4

    Walk-through

Final punch list — usually empty. We handle any touch-ups before you sign off.

FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

Which Texas lakes do you serve?

We build custom docks across Central and North Texas, with crews regularly working on Lake LBJ, Lake Travis, Lake Austin, Lake Buchanan, Lake Marble Falls, and Cedar Creek Lake. If your property is on a different Texas lake, give us a call — we often travel for the right project.

What is the difference between a stationary and a floating dock?

Stationary docks are anchored to the lakebed and sit at a fixed elevation — ideal for lakes with stable water levels and for homeowners who want a rock-solid concrete deck. Floating docks ride on steel flotation and move up and down with the water, which is essential on lakes where levels swing several feet. We build both, and we will recommend the right one after reviewing your shoreline.

How long does a custom dock project take?

Every project is different, but most new stationary docks take 6–12 weeks from permit to completion, and floating docks are typically 4–8 weeks. Renovations and add-ons can be faster. We lock timelines after the site visit so you know exactly what to expect.

Do you handle permits and HOA submittals?

Yes. LCRA permits on the Highland Lakes, individual lake authority submittals, and HOA architectural reviews are part of our standard scope. We prepare the engineered drawings, submit the paperwork, and keep you copied on every approval.

Can you renovate or repair my existing dock?

Absolutely. A large share of our work is additions, resurfacing, lift replacement, and structural repairs. We assess the existing framework, tell you what is salvageable, and lay out upgrade options — often you can keep the footprint and dramatically improve the deck, roof, or lifts.
